Philly Joe’s suve residendiprogramm annab platvormi Eesti noortele tegijatele jazzimaastikul! Uued kooslused, värvikad kavad ja võimalus kuulda jazzi ja selle mõjutustega rütmimuusikat igal kontsertõhtul uuest küljest - seda kõike pakuvad välja valitud artistid nädalast nädalasse terve suve jooksul. 

Juulis jagavad residentuuri trummar Henri Paul Pukk ja kitarrist Robin Mäetalu. Nende kooslusi kuuleb kolmapäevadel (02.07, 09.07, 23.07 ja 30.07) ning reedel 18.07.

“Tribute to J Dilla” 
Sel õhtul teevad Philly Joe’s residendid kummarduse legendaarsele ameerika produtsendile ja räpparile J Dillale. Mitmete legendaarsete artistidega nagu Madlib, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo jpt koostööd teinud mees kompis hiphopi piire, olles tõeline innovaator ja mõjutaja tänapäeva muusikale. Tantsuplats on avatud, et kogeda ja nautida muusikute elavas esituses Dilla ajatuid “drunk” biite souli, jazzi ja hiphopi segus. Et õige meeleolu oleks koheselt garanteeritud, valib plaate DJ Lauri Täht!

Henri Paul Pukk on trummar, õpetaja ja ansamblijuht, kes on lõpetanud MUBA löökpillide eriala. Oma trummimänguoskuste ja mitmekülgsuse tõttu on ta hinnatud muusik, kes on teinud koostööd erinevate Eesti kollektiividega (The Swingers, Funcle jt).

Robin Mäetalu on Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia bakalaureuseõppe lõpetaja, kes eelnevalt õppinud Georg Otsa nim. Tallinna Muusikakoolis. Aastate jooksul on Robin mänginud mitmes erinevas nimekas popbändis (Karl-Eric Taukar, Jüri Pootsmann, jt) ja telesaadete stuudiobändide koosseisus.

The Philly Joe’s Summer Residency programme provides a platform for talented young Estonian artists on the jazz scene! New ensembles, colourful programs and the opportunity to hear jazz and music with its influences from a new perspective on every concert evening - all this is offered by selected artists, week after week throughout the summer.

During July, drummer Henri Paul Pukk and guitarist Robin Mäetalu will be sharing a residency introducing new themes and collaborators each week. Their concerts will take place on Wednesdays (02.07, 09.07, 23.07 ja 30.07) and on Friday 18.07.

“Tribute to J Dilla”
Philly Joe’s residents pay homage to the legendary American producer and rapper J Dilla. The man who collaborated with many legendary artists such as Madlib, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, etc. pushed the boundaries of hip-hop, being a true innovator and influencer of today’s music. The dance floor is open to experience and enjoy Dilla’s timeless “drunk” beats in a mix of soul, jazz and hip-hop by great musicians in a live setting. To ensure the right mood from the start, DJ Lauri Täht will be selecting records. 

Henri Paul Pukk is a drummer, teacher and band leader who graduated from MUBA (Tallinn School of Music & Ballet) with a degree in percussion. Due to his drumming skills and versatility he is a valued musician who has collaborated with various Estonian groups (The Swingers, Funcle, etc.).

Robin Mäetalu is a bachelor's degree graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, having previously studied at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School. Over the years, Robin has played in several different well-known pop bands (Karl-Eric Taukar, Jüri Pootsmann, etc.) and in studio bands for television shows.
