Hailed as “Magnificent” by DownBeat magazine, GRAMMY-Award winning trumpeter and composer, Charlie Porter first cut his teeth on the New York jazz scene, while simultaneously studying classical trumpet performance at the Juilliard school. He has toured the world as a side man and bandleader and Jazz and also as a classical soloist and chamber musician.
As a band-leader Charlie released his eponymous debut album Charlie Porter in 2018 and his second album Immigration Nation in 2018, both to critical acclaim.
A professor of jazz studies at Portland State University, Porter is regraded internationally as a clinician and educator.
In this special one-time event, trumpeter and composer Charlie Porter will be presenting music from his two recent albums Charlie Porter and Immigration Nation, as well as some brand new, exciting works that have yet to be recorded with an incredible group featuring Estonian musicians Heikko and Joel Remmel, and Jussi Lehtonen from Finland
